Is now the best time to leave?

I'm pregnant with my first child. I'd like to stay home and my husband thinks we can manage the money okay, but with the economy so bad, I'm worried that I'd be making a huge mistake. Is anybody else worried about what the economy may do? Is this stopping anyone else?  I don't want to seem paranoid but I also don't want to ignore reality just because I want to do this.
